Who You Talk To

When you send a request, you hear from an independent HVAC provider. That is a local business that fixes and replaces heating and cooling systems. These providers run their own companies. They are not employees of Harmpiano Heating & Air.

You may hear from more than one. That is on purpose. It lets you compare.

What Happens on the First Talk

Expect a few simple questions. The provider will ask what your system is doing. They may ask how old it is, what brand it is, and when the trouble began. They may ask about noises, smells, or error lights.

Then they will explain the next step. That could be a visit to look at the system. It could be a rough range over the phone. Ranges are not final prices. A real quote comes after someone sees the equipment.

Questions Worth Asking

Keep this short list handy:

• Are you licensed and insured in my state?
• Will you put the estimate in writing?
• What is the cause of the problem, in plain words?
• Is this a repair, or should I think about replacement?
• What parts will you use, and is there a warranty from you or the maker?
• Does the estimate include all labor and parts?
• What could change the price once the work starts?

If an answer sounds vague, ask again. A good provider is happy to explain.

Repair or Replace?

Sometimes a repair makes sense. Sometimes a system is old and failing often. Ask each provider to explain both paths. Then you can weigh the cost of fixing now against the cost of a new unit.

You Are in Control

You do not have to say yes on the first visit. You can ask for a second estimate. You can ask a provider to slow down. You pick who does the work, and you decide when.
